The final day of the Republican National Convention is here. It was a late night for us last night. Actually we wrapped up a little after midnight. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the first woman on a Republican ticket, really seemed to electrify the crowd with her acceptance speech. Then John McCain walked on stage and stood with Palin's husband and five children
before the delegates began the roll call vote that would make McCain their presidential nominee. McCain will deliver his acceptance speech tonight. The theme will be "Peace -- a Safer and More Secure America."
We're now heading off to the delegates' breakfast. Their hotel is actually further away from the Xcel Energy Center than ours is, so we have to drive away from Minneapolis-St. Paul to get there and then backtrack a bit to get to the arena. The delegates are scheduled to hear from U.S. Senator Arlen Specter and former Pennsylvania governor and U.S. Homeland Secretary Tom Ridge.
