It's been a form of political advertising long before candidates got their name across to voters on television. Bumper stickers are a big thing in presidential campaigns. In fact, one company I checked out on the Internet says the stickers account for 12% of its business in a presidential election year.
This morning, Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett told the state's delegates to go home after the convention and put McCain stickers on their cars. He said he recently observed the value of bumper stickers firsthand when he was stopped behind a car that wasn't moving for a green light. He was about to urge the driver to move when a member of his security detail noticed the car had a Corbett sticker on its bumper. He decided instead to wait for the driver to move on his own.
