Bill and I just interviewed Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight (Midnight Cowboy, National Treasure, Pearl Harbor) about his role in the upcoming movie, An American Carol.
Voight plays George Washington (right), whose spirit is one of three that haunts a Michael Moore be-alike for wanting to do away with the celebration of Independence Day.
"You can't take Michael Moore too seriously," said Voight. "He just says one thing after another that is so deeply disturbing and repulsive to me."
Voight told us the movie is a funny parody directed and produced by someone with quite a bit of experience with that genre.
"I was able to get a front row seat at David Zucker making a movie," said Voight. "This is fun."
Zucker has such comedies as Airplane! and the three Naked Gun movies to his credit.
After a screening of the new movie's trailer this morning, former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania told us An American Carol is a conservative counterattack on Michael Moore and the "liberal left."
Karin will tell us more about the movie tonight at 6:00.
