I love to shop!

Wendy Davis | WFMZ-TV

As many of you may already know, I like to shop. OK. I love to shop! I do. I admit it. However, it runs much deeper than that. It's more than just acquiring more things. I love the hunt, the search for a great deal!

I also know I'm not alone. Who doesn't love a deal, especially in these tough times when money is tight and every penny counts? Why spend more than you have to, right?

That's why I'm working on putting together the special series, "What can Davis save us?" It's all dedicated to giving you tips on how to get what you want and save some cash at the same time. So, just what can Davis save us?

First up, we're going to start with the oldest saving tactic in the book: COUPONS!

A clip here and a snip there can cut hundreds of dollars off your grocery bill!  We'll reveal some tricks and tips that can take your couponing to the next level. I'll hook up with a local mom who's broken the "coupon code" and is willing to share her secret to success with us!

Next up, a Valentine's Day treat. I truly have a love/hate relationship with February 14. I like the idea of a day devoted to showing love for one another, I do. And I truly love the fun colors that go with it -- the reds and pinks that brighten up the gloomy grays and stark whites outside our windows this time of year. Then there's the chocolate. It is hard to find fault with a day where chocolate is flowing freely. But -- and this a big but, and not the kind caused by all that free flowing chocolate. This "but" has to do with the price tag that goes along with all that "love." It doesn't have to be that way, however. I'll give you some tips on how to spoil your sweetie without spoiling your budget!  And yes, there is chocolate! (and a few other sweet surprises).

Last but not least, ideas for your house. We spend a lot of our time inside this time of year, so why not make your home a place you want to spend time in? Don't have room in the budget for a room makeover or a new piece of furniture? Think again! What if I told you you could get a look straight out of those popular high-end home store catalogs (you know the ones) without the high-end price! Oh it can be done. And it's a lot easier than you might think. I'll show you the secrets behind some of your favorite designs and how you can get the same look for a fraction of the price!

I know there are a lot of you out there who truly walk the walk when it comes to living the high life on a low budget. So tell us your secret to saving!
